Harlem Link Charter School, a Pre-K to 5 public school, links academics, values and community to graduate articulate scholars who meet or exceed New York State Performance Standards and active citizens who learn and serve in their communities. Families, staff and community join together to provide a safe, supportive learning environment that empowers students to take an active role in learning and demonstrate good character. Simply put, we want to inspire children to attain superior academic achievement and to contribute to Harlem's rich civic, cultural and intellectual legacy.
Today, only 9% of lower-income students graduate from college. We simply don't accept that number, and are pushing ALL of our students, 90% of whom are growing up in poverty, to a life of choices and academic success.
We have developed unique and innovative ways of supporting this urgent mission. Encouraging social, emotional, and academic growth, Harlem Link's devoted staff go the extra mile for their students through After All. Each student is offered homework assistance and hours of extra-curricular activities that strengthen their evolving skills and help them grow into well-rounded and goal-oriented scholars. And our Start to Finish program allows us to begin our commitment to a child's education at infancy, and it continues to support them through grade school and all the way to college through our alumni network. We strive to grant them every possible opportunity, but we can't do it alone.
That's where you come in!
As a nonprofit and public institution, Harlem Link depends on donations to cover critical expenses such as curriculum development consultants, field trips, extracurricular activities, community partnership expenses that goes to our future scholars. To present opportunities that would otherwise be lost. And we can only do it together.
