Help John and the rest of Harlem Link plant something that will grow for years to come

John Reddick is retiring from his daily work at Harlem Link Charter School

Mr. Reddick is a founding board member, founding director of our after school, keeper of our garden, regular donor, and Harlem Link staff member who has spent every day from early in the morning to late in the evening caring for our students and alumni for 18 years. John Reddick IS Harlem Link Charter School, and only health reasons can keep him away from his love of this community.

John will always be present at the school in the form of our community. Tended to and protected by John since its inception, he's constantly provided it with care and attention, ensuring it exists for all students and families of Harlem Link. And now it's our turn.

Now renamed the John Reddick Community Garden, Harlem Link wants to honor John's teachings and impact by making sure his life's work exists for generations to come. We invite you and your green thumbs to support these efforts, so we may repair our planters, resupply the soil, plant new seeds and provide the continual upkeep needed to keep our garden strong.

Our garden stands as a representative space of the nurturing spirit John has provided for our community. It's our duty to keep that care and support going.

"You've helped cultivate young people in our community, and I thank you so much, because I used to be one of those young people...You guys fulfill all the dreams a young black person, or an old black person, can do and want for their life... Thank you for caring for our young people, and God bless you all."
